The revenue generation projected by government has always been criticized for it’s over optimism. The same is evident from the gap between revenue generation and revenue collection. Post nine months of this fiscal year, the gap exceeds an amount of Rs 3.2 kharba.

Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada had predicted an increase in revenue collection by 35% that amounts to overall Rs 8 kharba 31 arba total budget. However, revenue worth only Rs 5 kharba 11 arba has been collected by the end of Chaitra. This covers 61.50% of the projected revenue collection. In Chaitra, both the tax and custom were not collected as expected which have negatively impacted the overall revenue collection.

Government has been failing to collect the revenue as projected since the beginning. After Poush, the gap between projected revenue collection and actual revenue collected has been increasing continuously.
