The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a significant increase in the prices of petroleum products, effective from midnight, March 26, 2026 (Chaitra 12, 2082 BS). The state owned utility has hiked the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 15 per liter.
Reason for the Hike
The NOC cited the ongoing conflict in West Asia as the primary driver for the increase, which has caused a continuous rise in international oil prices. Despite utilizing the Price Stabilization Fund, the corporation projected a loss of Rs 5 billion over the last 15 days and anticipates an additional Rs 15 billion loss if prices were not adjusted.
