Fourteenth Annual Meeting of South Asian Federation of Exchanges concludes on 17th Jestha, 2076; new workforce committee appointed

The 14th Annual discussion and workforce meeting of South Asian Federation of Exchange (SAFE) was held on 17th Jestha, 2076. SAFE is an umbrella organization for the securities exchange markets of South Asian Countries. The members of the organization discussed on the topic “Modernization of Capital Market in Nepal and Across the Border.”

Members of SAFE include securities exchange markets of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Mauritius and United Arab Emirates. The aim of the organization is to exchange information, knowledge and Experience essential for the development of stock exchange market.

In the meeting held last Friday, the members of the organization appointed the new workforce, according to which CEO of Royal Stock Exchange of Bhutan, Dorje Funtso and CEO of Mercantile Exchange of Nepal, Jitesh Surendran have been appointed as the President and Vice president respectively for a period of two years. Other members of the workforce have also been appointed.

Similarly, the four phase discussed on “Modernization of Capital Market of Nepal and Across the Border” was held. In the first phase, the members discussed on the issues with the banking sector. The second phase was regarding the development in the accessibility to the stock exchange market and its modernization. The third phase discussion was regarding attracting and inviting new companies to be listed on the stock exchange market and new use of new tools for the ease of the investors. The final phase of the discussion was about the overall development of the stock exchange market.
