Finance Minister Wagle to Respond to Policy and Programme Debate Instead of PM Balen
The government has decided that Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle will respond to lawmakers’ queries on the government’s policies and programmes in Parliament instead of Prime Minister Balen Shah.
Earlier, the Parliament Secretariat had included Prime Minister Shah in the tentative agenda to answer questions raised during discussions on the government’s policy and programme. However, after the Prime Minister opted not to address the House, the responsibility has been assigned to Finance Minister Wagle.
The meeting of the House of Representatives has been scheduled for 11:00 am today.
President Ramchandra Paudel had presented the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2083/84 before the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Baisakh 28.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, today’s meeting is expected to begin deliberations on the policies and programmes, receive responses to issues raised by lawmakers, present proposed amendments for decision-making, and endorse the document on the same day.
Leaders of various political parties had addressed the House during yesterday’s parliamentary meeting.
