Election Commission Completes Printing and Packing of FPTP Ballot Papers for 25 Districts
The Election Commission (EC) has announced that the printing and packing of ballot papers for 25 districts under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system has been completed.
According to the EC, ballot papers for districts including Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum West, Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, and Achham have been fully printed and packed. Similarly, the printing and packing process has also been completed for districts such as Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, and Sunsari.
The Commission further informed that printing of ballot papers for a total of 60 districts has been completed, although packing work for these districts is still underway. The EC stated that ballot printing has reached its final stage, with packing progressing gradually.
Ballot papers are being printed at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited. The EC also confirmed that printing of ballots for the proportional representation electoral system has been fully completed. A total of 20,830,000 proportional representation ballots have been printed, packed, registered and made ready for delivery.
For the FPTP electoral system, 20,323,000 ballots are required to be printed. Printing for the FPTP system began on January 30. In addition, the Commission has already printed and distributed 1,098,200 sample ballot papers to various districts.
The EC stated that all necessary preparations related to ballot printing and distribution are progressing as per the planned schedule.
