EC Completes Printing of 3 Million FPTP Ballot Papers for HoR Elections

The Election Commission (EC) has completed the printing of three million ballot papers under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system in preparation for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5.

According to the EC, ballot papers for the FPTP system covering 25 districts have been printed so far. In addition, nearly 1.1 million sample ballot papers are currently being printed to support voter education initiatives aimed at familiarizing voters with the voting process.

The EC stated that the ballot papers are being printed at Janak Education Materials Limited in Bhaktapur, which has been entrusted with the task of producing the election materials.

Meanwhile, the printing of ballot papers for the proportional representation (PR) electoral system has already been completed. EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that a total of 28,030,000 ballot papers were printed for the PR system.

The Election Commission said the timely completion of ballot paper printing is a key step in ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the HoR elections.
