Despite negative operating profit Samata Laghubitta reports positive net profit; Company in merger with Gharelu Laghubitta

Samata Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SMATA) has published its first-quarter report of FY 2077/2078 with an increase in Net Profit. As per the report published by the company, the net profit increased to Rs. 1.11 crores as compared to Rs. 14.27 Lakhs in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
As per the financial report, despite the decrease in core business revenue and negative operating profit, the net profit is supported by write back of provision created by the company previously.
The borrowings of the company increased by 22.46% to Rs. 98.41 crores which was Rs. 80.36 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s loans and advances increased by 28.81% to Rs. 1.83 Arba in this quarter.
The net interest income (core revenue) has decreased by 27.28% to Rs. 1.69 crores compared to Rs. 2.33 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The paid-up capital of the company increased to Rs. 22.93 crore in this quarter and its reserve and surplus stood at Rs. 12.51 crores.
Its annualized earnings per share (EPS) stands at Rs. 19.52. The net worth per share stands at Rs. 154.58. The company traded at a P/E multiple of 33.81 times.
