Dates Finalized for NRNA's 11th World Conference and Convention; Consolidation with NRNA Chaired by Kunwar Approved

The date for the 11th World Conference and Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been officially determined. During a meeting held on Sunday, the Non-Resident Nepali Association decided to organize the convention in Kathmandu from October 17 to 20, and concurrently, a youth and expert conference will also take place during the same period.
As part of the meeting's decisions, the nomination fee for the upcoming association convention has been reduced. The reduction amounts to 75% for youth and women office bearers, and 50% for other office bearers, including the president.
Previously, the candidature fee for the chairman's post was 10 lakhs, and it exceeded 5 lakhs for other posts.
Registration of central convention delegates of the union will be open from August 10 to 25. In the initial phase, 90% of ex-officers will be able to claim their representatives through the 'Smart NRNA' app. The remaining 10% will be recommended to the center by the unanimous decision of the meeting of the working committee of the national committee.
Furthermore, the meeting has also approved the agreement reached with NRNA in June, chaired by Vinod Kunwar, through a special session to be held on August 12. Following this approval, both NRNAs will merge into one.
The meeting has directed the previously formed election committee to commence preparations for the election of the new leadership during the 11th Congress of the Union. The election committee is expected to announce the agenda in the coming weeks.
RK Sharma, Mahesh Shrestha, Badri KC, Keshav Paudel, and Ravina Thapa have expressed their aspirations for the new leadership of the association.
