The NEPSE index closed at 2,173.44 today after losing 50.33 points from last trading day's closing. This is a loss of 2.26%. The index had lost 15.82 points last Friday.

The index opened at 2,227.43 points and went intraday high at 2,233.54. It then closed at 2,173.44 which is also the intraday low.

227 scrips traded hands via 26,949 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 3,456,529 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 1.338 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.298 Arba.

Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 4.96 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 935. The shares of Century Commercial Bank Ltd. Promoter Share (CCBLPO) traded the most.

Balephi Hydropower Limited (BHL) gained highest 9.99% and technically hit the positive circuit for the day.

On the other side of things, Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB) lost the highest 9.99% today.

All sector indices closed red, "Trading" lost the highest 3.22% while "Hotels And Tourism" lost the least 1.38%.
