Construction of 222 Road Bridges Completed in One Year

Over the course of one year, a total of 222 road bridges have been successfully constructed across the country.
This significant accomplishment took place during the financial year 2079/80, as reported by the road department. Initially, the department had set an ambitious target of constructing 300 bridges nationwide during the same period. Additionally, the department aimed to dig 500 kilometers of new road tracks.
In terms of new road tracks, the department managed to dig 243 kilometers within the designated timeframe. Furthermore, only 628 kilometers of fractured roads were extended out of the planned 1,000 kilometers.
Statistics from the department reveal that, in the same year, 820 kilometers of new roads were constructed, along with 249 kilometers of road reconstruction. However, the target had been set at 1,300 kilometers of road construction in a single year.
Regarding budget allocation and utilization, the road department had earmarked a budget of 1 Kharba 20 Arba 58 crores for expenditure over the year. However, the actual expenditure amounted to only 68.39 percent of the allocated budget, equating to 82.4 Arba rupees spent during the year.
The road department is overseeing substantial projects, including the upgrading of the Madhyapahari highway, Hulaki highway, North-South highway, Madan Bhandari highway, and the East-West highway, among others.
