Commercial Banks earns Rs 21.69 billion in Q3; Nabil Bank has highest net profit

There are 29 commercial banks at present and most of the banks have published their third quarter report of Fiscal Year 2072/73.
The total profit of the commercial banking industry as of Q3 2072/73 is Rs.21.69 arba. This is a rise of 50.73% when compared to the total profit of same quarter last year.
The average net profit of the commercial banks stands at Rs.83.45 crores. 9 banks earned profit above the average figure while 17 earned less than average profits.
Nabil Bank Ltd. earned the highest net profit of Rs.2.06 arba in Q3. Last year too Nabil Bank had highest net profit of Rs.1.63 arba in Q3.
Nabil Bank Limited, Himalayan Bank Limited, Agriculture Development Bank Limited, Nepal Bank Limited and Nepal Investment Bank Limited are the top five banks with the highest amount of profit in Q3 of the ongoing fiscal year. 36.37 percent of the commercial banking sector's profits have been earned by the top 5 companies.
Three out of these five commercial banks have net profit increment less than 30% when compared with the net profit earned in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal year.
Nepal Bank has the highest net profit increment in Q3 when compared with the net profit of same period of last fiscal year. Its net profit increased by Rs.1.28 arba or 355%. Nepal Bank had sold its asset which has contributed in the increment of its net profit in Q3 of ongoing fiscal year.
There is an increment in net profit of 25 commercial banks whereas the net profit of Standard Chartered Bank has declined. The net profit of Standard Chartered declined by 5.30% in Q3 of ongoing fiscal year when compared to the Q3 of last fiscal year.
