CNI Urges Government to Address Legitimate Demands of FCAN
The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has made an earnest request to the government to promptly address the legitimate demands put forth by the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN).
The CNI has emphasized that the private sector is currently grappling with a host of challenges, including high interest rates, reduced demand, decreased production, job cuts, and a declining sense of morale within the sector. Moreover, investment plans are being postponed due to the prevailing economic conditions.
Drawing attention to the critical nature of the situation, the CNI highlights that delays in payment to construction professionals for completed projects can have a direct and adverse impact on the overall economy.
Additionally, the CNI points out that the construction sector plays a significant role in contributing to the country's gross domestic product (GDP). Therefore, any postponement in addressing the just demands of construction workers could further exacerbate the economic situation.
In light of these concerns, the CNI earnestly appeals to the government to be attentive to the needs of the construction sector and to take immediate actions to resolve the issues faced by the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal (FCAN). Addressing these challenges promptly is crucial to ensuring the stability and growth of the private sector and the overall economy.
