Chilime Hydropower profit dropped by mere 3.28% in Q1; Sanima Mai earns Rs 17.03 crore net profit from loss of Rs 7.97 crore

Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) has posted net profit depreciate by meager 3.28% in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2073/74. According to the unaudited balance sheet of the hydropower company published today, its profit after tax decreased to Rs. 30.73 crore in first quarter of the current fiscal year 2073/74 from Rs 31.78 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year 2072/73. The company made an income of Rs. 36.31 crore, mainly from selling electricity, in the first quarter, down from Rs. 36.62 crore in the corresponding quarter. Its interest income declined to Rs. 23.71 lakh from Rs. 81.06 lakh in first which is decrease of Rs. 57.35 lakh. Chilime’s reserve fund has also slightly declined to Rs. 4.63 arba in the first quarter, down from Rs. 4.83 arba in the corresponding quarter. Its paid up capital is at Rs. 3.13 arba. It’s annualized Earnings per Share (EPS) stands at Rs 39.24, P/E ratio at 31.87 times and net worth stands at Rs. 248. Meanwhile, Sanima Mai Hydropower Company Limited (SHPC) has reported net profit rise of Rs 17.03 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2073/74 from net loss of Rs 9.79 crore in the corresponding quarter of the fiscal year 2072/73. Sanima Mai Hydropower was facing loss of millions rupees due to the increased overhead cost including bank interest and depreciation cost. As per the unaudited report published by the hydropower company today, the company made an income of Rs. 30.03 crore , mainly from selling electricity, in the first quarter, up from Rs. 5.18 crore in the corresponding quarter. Sanima Mai Hydropower has paid up capital of Rs 1.05 arba. The positive aspect of the company is that its retained earnings have also become positive of Rs 17.93 crore in this quarter from negative of Rs 5.88 crore. It’s Earnings per Share (EPS) stands at Rs 16.15, net worth per share at Rs 117 and cost income ratio at 1.73.
