Charm in StanChart FPO affects NEPSE: Index slides by 8.14 points to close at 1347.09 levels; Turnover above Rs 52.85 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) dropped by 8.14 points or 0.60% to close at 1347.09 points.
Nepse Index opened at 1355.92 points today and the local bourse went up to 1359.94 points in the second trading hour of the day. After that, it was seen in downward trend. Majority of the influence can be attributed to the FPO of Standard Chartered Bank that commenced today.
3,76,426 units shares of Nepal Investment Bank Promoter Shares (NIBPO) and 51,341 units shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) were traded most today.
Shareholders of Oriental Hotel, Api Power Company, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, Yeti Development Bank and Sagarmatha Insurance became top five losers in today’s market.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 52.85 crore where more than 9.45 lakh units shares were traded through 3,417 transactions.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 1.77 points and 0.61 points respectively.
Except Manufacturing & production, all the sub-indices landed in red zone today. Hotel sub-group dipped by 27.2 points.
