Carry Your Umbrellas! Chance of Heavy Rain in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Regions

Currently, the eastern and central parts of the country are experiencing the influence of the monsoon system, while the remaining areas are partially affected by local winds and westerly winds.

According to the Department of Hydrometeorology, Weather Forecasting Division, the low-pressure area in Uttar Pradesh, India is also impacting western Nepal.

Presently, there are general changes in the Terai areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, including Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country is experiencing partial to general changes.

Additionally, light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning is occurring in a few places across the country, as reported by the division.

Today, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, and a few places in other provinces, along with partly cloudy to normal showers throughout the country.

In the afternoon, heavy rain is also likely in a couple of places within the Koshi region.

During the night, the department forecasts a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as a few places in other provinces.

Moreover, heavy rain is expected at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces during the night, according to the department's statement.

As weather patterns undergo changes nationwide, there is a possibility of temperature drop in the Terai area of western Nepal.

The monsoon has not yet arrived due to the influence of the low-pressure area in western Nepal. Meteorologists have mentioned that the low-pressure area is gradually weakening, and the monsoon is expected to arrive after its effects subside.
