Capital Market Index dips by double digits to close at 1540.23 points; Turnover above Rs 50.14 crore

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has declined by 13.49 points or 0.87% to close at 1540.23 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1554.97 points and the local bourse was seen in downward trend. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 50.14 crore where more than 13.81 lakh units shares were traded through 4,134 transactions. Manual Turnover of Rs 41.56 crore was seen today.
Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited (NBB) topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 4.20 crore) while Gurans Life Insurance Company limited Promoter Shares (GLICLP) were traded the most (1.38 lakh units) today.
Sensitive and float index slightly went down by 2.79 points and 1.04 points respectively.
All the indices of nine trading group landed in red at the end of the day with Insurance sector losing the most followed by Hotels sector.
The best performer of the day was Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) hitting 10% positive circuit break while Oriental Hotel Limited (OHL) was among the top loser.
