Capital Market Index dips by 2.91 points on last trading day of week; Minimal turnover of Rs 75.70 crore

On the last trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has declined by meager 2.91 points or 0.18% to close at 1629.75 points. Nepse Index opened at 1632.75 points and the local bourse was seen downward trend. Selling pressure drags market down till the second trading hour of the day after that market increases gradually. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 75.70 crore in which more than 32.15 lakh units shares were traded through 6,827 transactions. Manual turnover of Rs 2.04 crore was seen today. index Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 4.85 crore) while Nabil Balanced Fund-1 (NBF1) was at the top in terms of number of shares traded (13.90 lakh units). The best performer of the day was Srijana finance Limited (SFFIL) hitting 10% positive circuit break while Himalayan Distillary Limited (HDL) was among the biggest loser today. Sensitive and float index slightly went down by 0.51 and 0.24 points respectively. Except Hydropower and Banking sub-group, all other groups landed in red.
