Barun Hydro reports net loss of Rs 97.17 lakh in Q1 as flooding after earthquake stopped electricity production

Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN) has reported net loss of 97.17 lakhs in net profit for the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2072/73.
Publishing the unaudited financial report for the first quarter today, the hydropower company has stated that its net loss of Rs. 97.17 lakh in the current quarter from Rs. 1.54 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
As per an official from BARUN, " The electricity production has been stopped due to damage from flooding after earthquake on April 25, 2015. The repair work has been effected due to Terai unrest. We expect to resume the production of electricity in this quarter. "
Barun’s operating profit has also decreased to Rs. 34.76 lakh in Q1 report from Rs. 2.95 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The total revenue decline to Rs. 3 crore in Q1 compare to Rs. 3.60 crore in the corresponding quarter.
The company’s non-operating expenses has declined to Rs.1.31crore in Q1from Rs. 1.40 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
BARUN has made investment of Rs.80 lakh. It’s paid up share capital remains at Rs.24.30 crore. Its reserve fund is negative by Rs.1.69 crore in the first quarter report.
Its net worth per share stands at Rs. 89.01.
