After the continuous relay hunger strike of the Investors’ Pressure Group, a group of 5 representatives were invited for discussion at Ministry of Finance’s High-committee office on Friday. In the meeting, a committee formed under the Deputy Governor, Mr Shivaraj Shrestha had agreed upon 12 of the 14 demands and invited 3 representatives to the meeting to be held in the next day i.e. Saturday.

However, when the representatives reached Nepal Rastra Bank to attend the meeting, they were denied entry from the main gate. After contacting Deputy Governor, Mr Shrestha replied that it was not necessary for the representatives to be invited in the meeting of the study committee and if it will be necessary they will be invited after 2-3 days.

The pressure group has released a press statement addressing the problems they had to face while planning to attend the pre-invited meeting. The group has not only blamed the deputy governor Mr Shrestha but also the member secretary of the committee Mr Uttar Kumar Khatri for the act.

The group also focuses on the matter that the authorities are not taking the matter seriously while fellow representatives from the group have also worked against the interest of the investors and it is necessary to think about the way to move further.

The relay hunger strike will continue from Poush 1, 2075 from 10 AM and the pressure group has invited all the interested investors to join the programme.
