Asian Paints Nepal announces winners for Architecture Students Design Competition 2021-22

Kaleidoscope , an annual event organized by Asian Paints Nepal, returned for its 2021-22 edition solidifying the company’s continual efforts to promote and showcase the talents of promising architects of Nepal.

Over the years through this CSR initiative, Asian Paints has provided a platform for the budding Architects of Nepal to apply their knowledge and showcase their talents through some of the most prestigious live projects. Asian Paints strongly believes that through the Kaleidoscope initiative, students’ have an opportunity to express their creativity and build a sense of accomplishment.

This is the 7th edition of the national competition where a total of 31 students of 2073 batch had participated from across various architectural colleges, namely, Acme Engineering College, IOE Pulchowk Campus, Kathmandu Engineering College, Nepal Engineering College, Himalaya College of Engineering, Khwopa Engineering College, IOE Thapathali Campus and IOE Purwanchal Campus.

The project for 2021-22 was to design the prominent Ligligkot Museum at Palungtar Municipality, Gorkha and the announcement of top 5 winners from more than 30 participants was done on 6th April, 2022 at Hyatt Regency.

The Chief Guest of the program was Secretary (Education) Yadav Prasad Koirala and the special guest was Mayor of Palungtar Municipality, Gorkha – Er. Dipak Babu Kandel. The event also noted the presence of Ar. Rajesh Thapa- President of SONA, Er. Dr. Hari Bahadur Darlami- President NEA, Er. Tuklal Adhikari- President of SCAEF and ID. Bindra Pradhan- President of IDEA NEPAL along with jurors, college coordinators, teachers, students, past winners and AP Representatives.

The winner of the Competition was Ms. Rojita Awale from IOE, Pulchowk Campus who was awarded a cash prize of Rs 70,000 from Asian Paints.

The first runner up was Mr. Prashant Deshar from Acme Engineering College who received cash prize of Rs 40,000 from Asian Paints.

Mr. Anil Kunwar ,from Kathmandu Engineering College, was awarded the second runner up position winning a cash prize of Rs 30,000 from Asian Paints.

Finally, the two consolation prizes were awarded to Mr. Abhishek Maharjan from IOE, Pulchowk Campus and Ms. Priya Shrestha from Kathmandu Engineering College with both receivi cash prize of Rs 10,000 from Asian Paints.

The winners were shortlisted by the panel of Jurors which included eminent personalities from the Architectural fraternity - Ar. Ila Shrestha, Ar. Sanjaya Pradhan, Ar. Sarosh Pradhan, Ar. Naresh Man Singh Amatya and Ar. Rama Maiya Manandhar along with Observer Ar. Lokendra Acharya and Advisor  Ar. Binod Neupane.
