Android One smartphone launched in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 16:

Starck Tech Company has launched Google Android One smartphone -- Dream UNO Mi-498 -- in the Nepali market.

The new smartphone was jointly launched by Starck chairman Saurabh Jyoti and chief branding officer Srijana Jyoti, the company said in a statement on Sunday. “In line with the company´s vision to introduce the latest technology at affordable prices, Starck Tech has launched Android One in Nepal to cater to the fast growing mobile phone market in the country,” Chairman Jyoti said, adding, “With an increasing demand for smartphones in Nepal, we anticipate excellent response from customers toward this phone.”

According to the company, the newly launched smartphone is a dual-SIM smartphone powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core Processor and running on Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat OS. The phone uses 4.5-inch IPS display and features an expandable storage capacity of 32 GB. It has 5 MP auto focus rear camera and 2 MP front camera. The phone is available at Rs 11,990.
