Airfare to Increase by 6 Percent from Tomorrow

Domestic flight fares will increase by 6 percent. Airlines will collect value-added tax on airfares starting from Monday. The Nepal Airline Operators Association has provided this information in a press release on Sunday.

In the budget for the financial year 2080-2081, it has been mandated that air transport services must be registered for value-added tax.

Since companies will receive a refund for the VAT paid on the purchase of air fuel, office supplies, etc., the fee will not increase to 13 percent. Currently, a 13 percent tax is levied under VAT.
