Agitating employees aligned with CPN-UML slow down daily function of the NRB

It's been several weeks that there has been a protest being carried out by the employees of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). The agitating employees are politically aligned CPN-UML. They have been demanding increment of salary-allowance along with other 37 demands. On Wednesday, Governor of the NRB could not leave office after regular business hours due to the protest being carried out by the employees.
As per Trilochan Pangeni, spokesperson of Nepal Rastra Bank, “Governor Office has been surrounded by the protestors. The work is definitely affected, but it is being carried out. We try to work in the morning and evening.”
The protest has slowed down the regular function of the NRB. For example, it was expected that Mero Microfinance would get IPO approval before Tihar festival from the NRB. As the work of NRB has been affected due to the protest, there is a chance that this IPO will get postponed.
The current embargo from India has negatively affected the whole economy of the country. All the financial sectors have taken a heavy toll.
It is no hidden fact that the employees of the NRB have been enjoying one of the best benefit packages and salary. In the midst of this crisis, the protest in the NRB will create more problems in order to satisfy few greedy employees.
