After 36 years the economic growth of Nepal is projected to be Negative

In the fiscal year 2035/36, the economic growth of Nepal was negative  and after 36 years  the economy has returned to the same condition. As per National Planning Commission 7 lakh poor people have been added due to earthquake. Nepal Rastra Bank estimates 8 lakh poor people  have been added due to the blockade. Here are the list of secors severly effected by blockade: Transportation From the second day of the blockade, fuel crisis started in Nepal and as a result, the use of vehicles has been in decreasing trend. The fuel has not entered from Birgunj port and from other ports less than 10% of fuel has entered. Lack of Food Products and Medicines Due to the blockade there has been problem in fulfilling the basic needs like food, medicines and fuel. There has been biased distribution of the limited things. So, there has been an unexpected increment in the prices of things and black marketing is fostering. From the month of Shrawan the price of pulses has increased by 34% and butter oil by 17%. The agricultural products are not getting appropriate market as a result ,there is also huge difference in the prices of these products. Affect in Agricultural production Due to the blockade, there has been lack of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and also due to less rainfall, agricultural production has been affected. If the chemical fertilizers and pesticides are not made available then the agricultural products  will be affected in the same manner. Industries, Hydopower and Irrigation Due to lack of fuel and raw materials, many industries of main industrial corridor are shut down. The reconstruction work of hydropower projects affected by the earthquakes has not started yet. The irrigation and road work has been affected due to the fuel crisis. Educational sector affected The educational institutions of terai region has been remained closed from past three months. And many educational institutions of the capital city and other Hilly region has been remained closed from Dashian Festival due to fuel crisis. Tourism sector affected Tourism sector that was affected by the earthquake has been more affected by the ongoing strikes in Terai –Madhesh. The occupancy of the hotels has been less than 20% in average. Domestic tourism has been Affect in banking sector Due to the strikes, the banks of Terai region have not been able to function well from past three months.  Also due to the fuel crisis the evening counters of most of the banks have in shut down in Kathmandu and other districts. Government institutions affected The  revenue sector has been affected. Due to lack of energy, the development work has been affected and only 3 arba, 10 crore can be utilized out of 15 arba foreign loan. Finance sector affected Due to strikes , the loan mobilization work has not been carried out in effective way by the banks and financial institutions and as a result there has been excess liquidity. Affect in consumers price Due to the blockade there has been increment in prices. Due to lack of imports, there will negative effect in the prices of oil and rice. Due to the blockade imposed by India, Nepalese economy will be negative after 4 decades. As per a study conducted by Nepal Rastra Bank on affect of blockade in economy, it is believed that the in the ongoing fiscal year the economic growth rate will be negative by 1.1%. The government has an aim of to have 6% economic growth rate. Earthquake and blockade has added more than 15 lakh poor people.
