322 Registered Industries and Rs. 2 Kharba 14 Arba Investments in Fiscal Year 2079-80

During the last fiscal year 2079-80 (Shrawan to Ashad), a total of 322 industries (domestic/foreign) were registered in Nepal.

These industries have proposed an investment of Rs. 2 Kharba 14 Arba and are expected to generate employment for 23 thousand 324 individuals. Additionally, 327 foreign investments were approved during the same period, proposing an investment of Rs. 33 Arba 14 crore.

If established, these foreign investment industries can potentially provide employment opportunities for more than 17 thousand people.

In terms of intellectual property, 5 patents and 18 designs were registered in the last fiscal year. Furthermore, the number of registered trademarks reached 3 thousand 254.

However, the department has also taken legal action against 150 companies involved in trademark theft and counterfeiting cases.
