305 Toastmasters gather virtually for Toastmasters Leadership Institute 2020 in Kathmandu

Division A, N, and O of District 41 of the Toastmasters International Organization have organized a Toastmasters Leadership Institute on 8th August 2020 over zoom. The session had 305 participants from the Nepal toastmaster’s community. The Toastmasters Leadership Institute has been adopted and developed to provide effective training and leadership development opportunities for its members to ramp up their Toastmaster experience, learn and refresh their skills, network and make new acquaintances and friends.
DTM Moon Pradhan, the Director of Division A welcomed the participants to the TLI and threw light on the opportunities of TLI. Similarly, TM Anish Dixit, the Director of Division N, touched about Leadership in Toastmasters.
Mr. Binod Chaudhary, a businessman, politician, and philanthropist then delivered the keynote speech about ‘Youth Engagement and Leadership’ in the session. In his session, Mr. Chaudhary focused on the changing world as a result of the pandemic and said; “We are now entering a phase where technology and the digital industry will write what the future will be.” He also talked a great deal about communication, its benefits, and its objectives. He talked about his hypothesis about communication and how the power of communication is directly related to networking.
DTM SaurabhLohani conducted the session on the Toastmaster’s International Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals. He talked about the 10 DCP goals that a club should strive to achieve each year focusing on Education, Membership, Training, and Mentorship and how a club could achieve the goals within each of these realms.
TM Sadiksha Singh led the session on Mentorship Program. She emphasized that the great success of Toastmasters over many years is the result of members providing support and guidance to other members and helping them learn effectively. To maximize this learning of members, the session delved upon a plan that would support and complement the existing Pathways Mentor Program and help members acquire specific skills in becoming a good mentor.
TM Rabindra Pradhan conducted a fun-filled interactive and informative session, where he touched upon ways in which a toastmasters meeting can be fun. He invited presidents/members of various Toastmasters Clubs in Nepal to state measures that they’ve adopted to make their meetings fun. He invited TM SeemaGolchha, TM Pranu Singh, TM SijaTripathi, and TM Sahisnuta Sharma, TM Shreya Ghimire, and TM Chandrayan Shrestha who shared how their clubs make the experience of their members fun-filled, energetic and motivating.
The session ended with a note from TM Avish Acharya, the Director of Division O who highlighted the subject of mentorship and how to make toastmasters meetings fun.
All in all, it was a deeply informative program with exemplary trainers.
