10.18 Percent Votes Cast in First Four Hours: EC

Around 10.18 percent votes have been cast in the ongoing House of Representatives elections so far today, according to the Election Commission.

As of 11 am, over 19,23,824 ballots have been cast, it said, adding that voting is ongoing in all 77 districts.

There are altogether 189,03,689 eligible voters—including 96,63,358 men, 92,40,131 women and 200 others---across the country.

A total of 65 political parties are contesting the polls with 61 electoral symbols. Altogether 3,406 candidates--3,017 male, 388 female, and 1 other--are running through the first-past-the-post electoral system.
