Till the end of fiscal year 2081/82, Nepal's trade report indicates concerning trends in the nation's economic landscape. The trade deficit, the difference between imports and exports, has risen by approximately 6 percent.

Export Trends:

Conversely, Nepal's exports reached Rs. 2.77 Kharba by the end of fiscal year 2081/82, with the highest volumes driven by sectors such as coffee, tea, spices, carpets, and man-made staple fibers. This marks an impressive 81.80% increase compared to the previous year, when exports were valued at Rs. 1.52 Kharba, reflecting a positive trend for the country's trade.

Import Trends:

During this period, imports exhibited an increase of about 13.25 percent, amounting to approximately Rs. 18.04 Kharba. In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, imports totaled Rs. 15.92 Kharba.

The most significant imported goods included mineral fuels, iron and steel, electrical machinery, mechanical appliances, and vehicles. This escalation in these imports underscores shifts in consumer demand and industrial requirements within the country.
