Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has recently reduced the prices of all petroleum products, with the exception of cooking gas. Following a decline in crude oil prices on the international market, the corporation has implemented price reductions for petrol, diesel, kerosene, and jet fuel.

To determine the price adjustments, the corporation has taken transportation charges into account and categorized them accordingly. As a result, the price of petrol, diesel, and kerosene per liter has been reduced by Rs 7.5 in all districts of Terai. In Kathmandu, the price of petrol and diesel has decreased by Rs 5 per liter, while in Surkhet and Dang, the decrease is Rs 6 per liter.

Previously, the corporation maintained a uniform price across all regions as the price of crude oil increased internationally. However, with the introduction of three categories based on shipping charges, prices are now determined differently.

For instance, the corporation used to charge additional rent from consumers in Amlekhganj for oil transported through the pipeline. However, with the decline in crude oil prices, this rent has been discontinued, resulting in more affordable petroleum products for consumers in that region.

Under the new pricing structure, consumers in Kathmandu will now pay Rs. 170 for petrol and Rs. 150 for diesel. In the Terai district, the prices will be Rs. 167.50 for petrol and Rs. 147.50 for diesel per liter.

Furthermore, the price of aviation fuel has been reduced by Rs 14 per liter domestically and Rs 15 per liter internationally.

Earlier, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) had reduced the price of gas by 161 rupees per cylinder in the new price list.

Additionally, IOC has reduced the prices of petrol and kerosene by 14 paise per liter and 5 paise per liter, respectively.

On the other hand, the price of diesel has increased by two rupees and 16 paise per liter, while aviation fuel has gone up by 57 paise.
