NIFRA Green Energy Bond Oversubscribed, Marks Historic Shift in Nepal’s Capital Market

NIMB Ace Capital Ltd. has successfully overseen the allotment of the “NIFRA Green Energy Bond 6% – 2088/89” issued by Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA), marking a historic milestone in Nepal’s capital market. The NPR 5 billion bond was oversubscribed by 3.8 times, showcasing strong investor confidence in green financing.
The bond, with a 6% annual interest and a 7-year tenure, will fund clean energy projects like hydropower and solar under the Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development (GRID) framework. The allotment took place at NIMB Ace Capital’s office in Kathmandu, attended by representatives from regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
