Anthropic's IPO Could Become World's Largest IPO, Surpassing SpaceX's Record Breaking IPO

AI company Anthropic, the developer of Claude AI, has filed for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the United States, with plans to list its shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol "ANT." The company submitted its IPO prospectus on October 26, 2026, and is reportedly targeting a public listing by the end of November.

According to the figures reported in its IPO filing, Anthropic recorded revenue of approximately $16.3 billion during the first six months of 2026, compared to $1.2 billion during the same period in 2025. However, the company also reported a net loss of $80.7 billion, significantly higher than the $13 billion loss recorded in the first half of the previous year.

The IPO prospectus also highlights several risks associated with the company's operations. Anthropic has warned that advanced AI systems could pose serious risks to humanity, including the possibility of resisting human attempts to shut them down. The company also faces financial uncertainty because of its limited long-term customer contracts. Nearly 25% of its revenue during the first nine months of 2026 reportedly came from just five customers, although no single customer contributed more than 10%.

Anthropic's planned IPO has attracted attention because of its potential size. Reports suggest the company could seek a valuation of between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion, with a possible fundraising target of up to $100 billion. However, the company has not yet confirmed its final share price, offering size, or listing date. If the valuation records as expected then Anthropic IPO will be the largest IPO in the world of financial market.

Comparison With SpaceX's IPO

Anthropic's proposed offering could surpass the reported $86 billion raised through SpaceX's IPO in June 2026. If Anthropic successfully raises $100 billion, it would exceed SpaceX's offering by approximately $14 billion and become the largest IPO in history. However, this comparison remains dependent on Anthropic's final offering size, which has yet to be officially announced.
