The ongoing national convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has led to the postponement of the House of Representatives meeting for the second consecutive time. The parliament secretariat announced the delay through an official notice, citing the extension of the party's convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan, which began on June 21.

The parliamentary session, originally scheduled for Thursday, had previously been pushed back to 1:00 PM today. However, as the RSP convention did not conclude on time, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal postponed the session once more. The meeting is now scheduled to take place on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

The delay has significantly impacted regular parliamentary proceedings because the RSP holds a commanding majority in the legislative body. Out of the 275 members in the House of Representatives, 182 belong to the RSP. With the majority of lawmakers away attending the party's central event, the house has been unable to form a quorum, forcing the leadership to repeatedly delay the sessions.
