Week’s trade ends losing 5.38 points; Prime Life Insurance’s promoter shares occupy more than 54 percent of day’s trade

The local bourse at the stock market registered a fall of 5.38 points as the market closed at 1,193.39 points. The market which had started at 1,198.77 points decreased throughout the day. The total turnover for the day was of Rs 56.12 crore which was achieved through the exchange of 19,18,648 unit shares. The shares of 162 listed companies were exchanged during the trading period through 3,772 transactions.
Prime Life Insurance Promoter Shares (PLICPO) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as the shares worth more than Rs 30.59 crore were exchanged during the trading period. It was also ahead in terms of units of shares traded as 10,73,444 units were traded during the day.
The shareholders of NIC Asia Growth Fund (NICGF) earned the most today as the price increased by 0.37 points and its LTP stood at Rs 9.55. However, the shareholders of Nepal Insurance Company Limited (NICL) lost the most during the day’s trade as the price decreased by 35 points and the LTP stood at Rs 569.
Both the sensitive index and float index decreased by 0.96 points and 0.44 points respectively.
Out of the 11 sub-indices, only Hotels and Manufacturing and Production ended in the green zone gaining the 14.61 points and 0.46 points respectively. Non-Life Insurance sector lost 80.82 points which was followed by Life Insurance losing 43.55 points.
