Warning Issued by Crusher Industry Against Sale of Ballast Sand from Ashad 16

The Federation of Nepal Crusher and Mining Industry (FNCMI) has announced that the sale and distribution of stone, gravel, and sand will be halted from Ashad 16, as the crusher industry has not been renewed. During a press conference held in Kathmandu on Sunday, the federation expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in implementing the decision to renew the registration of the crusher industry, which was made on Magh 11, 2079.
Federation President Sitaram Neupane was quoted as saying that if the demand is not met by Ashad 15, the supply of construction materials from the crusher industry nationwide will be suspended. The government had set the deadline for illegal crusher industries to obtain legal permits and operate legally by the end of the upcoming Ashad.
Last Magh, the Council of Ministers decided to renew the licenses and registrations of industries that were eligible at the time but had not been renewed due to certain standards, with a deadline of June. However, industrialists argue that all industries registered under the government's decision should be automatically legalized. The district's domestic and small industry offices are hesitant to renew crusher permits as the Cabinet's decision lacks clarity.
Businessmen have organized protests in order to exert pressure for the decision's implementation.
