WAPP and NAPPP Sign MoU for Bilateral PPP Cooperation at Nepal Investment Summit 2024

In a significant stride towards fostering collaborative ties, the World Association of PPP Units and Professionals (WAPP) and the Nepalese Association of PPP Professionals and Practitioners (NAPPP) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the ongoing Third Investment Summit in Kathmandu.

The MoU, signed by WAPP President Ziad-Alexandre Hayek and NAPPP Chair Anup Kumar Upadhyay, signifies a commitment to bilateral cooperation aimed at advancing mutual interests in the realm of public-private partnerships (PPP).

Both entities have pledged to exchange expertise and insights on PPP-related matters, with a focus on bolstering physical infrastructure and PPP project pipelines. The MoU also outlines provisions for joint efforts in PPP project preparation and program development, as well as collaboration in promoting international best practices.

Chairperson Upadhyay of NAPPP expressed optimism regarding the partnership, highlighting its potential to augment Nepal's knowledge base and capacity in PPP initiatives. He underscored the anticipated benefits for Nepal's PPP projects, emphasizing the transformative impact witnessed particularly in the hydropower and clean energy sectors.

President Hayek of WAPP commended Nepal's commendable track record in PPP project implementation, citing it as a model for emulation. He lauded Nepal's indigenous practices and rich experiences, which he deemed exemplary, particularly in driving progress in key sectors such as hydropower and clean energy.
