Volatile market ends gaining 2.41 points; Turnover still promising for the investors

The ever fluctuating stock market was able to record a gain of 2.41 points to end the day. The stock market that had started at 1,256.4 points had reached 1,261.60 points at its peak and at 1,251.55 points at its lowest. However, the market gained 0.19% to close at 1,258.81points.

The market observed a decent total turnover of Rs 45.86 crore which was through the trade if 33,86,420 shares during the trading period. Shares of 169 listed companies were exchanged through 5,830 transactions.

Unlike past few days, other companies along with the commercial banks were also the part of the stock market. Neco Insurance Company Limited (NIL) was the top stock by turnover as more than Rs 3.36 crore worth of its shares were traded throughout the day. NMB Bank Limited (NMB) was the top stock by shares traded as 69,287 unit shares were traded in the day.

The shareholders of Arun Kabeli Power Limited (AKPL) earned the most as the price of the stock increased by 22 points and its LTP Stood at Rs 266. However, the shareholders of Hathway Finance Company Limited (HATH) were the top losers for the day, as the shares saw fall of 6 points and its LTP stood at Rs 118.

Both the sensitive and float index increased by 0.16 points and 0.14 points respectively.

Among the sub-indices, Banking, Trading, Hotels and Finance sectors failed to reach the green zone. Non-Life Insurance gained 73.95 points while Hotels lost 25.93 points.
