Volatile market closes gaining 4.77 points; Four companies hit the circuit in day's trade

Today’s market showed the extent of volatility that the Nepalese Stock Market possesses. The market that started at 1,194.50 points closed gaining 4.77 points at 1,199.27 points. The market observed increment continuously for most of the period of the trading and it reached 1,213.12 points. However, the market faltered after the point and closed at 1,199.27 points.

The total turnover for the day was of Rs 29.51 crore which was achieved through the exchange of 11,89,689 unit shares. The shares of 160 listed companies were exchanged during the trading period through 4,033 transactions.

Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as the shares worth more than Rs 1.88 crore were exchanged during the trading period. Mega Bank Limited (MEGA) stood ahead in terms of units of shares traded as 42,421 units were traded during the day.

The shareholders of Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (NNLB) earned the most today as the price increased by 67 points and its LTP stood at Rs 738. Along with Naya Nepal Laghubitta, Bhargav Bikas Bank also hit the positive circuit. However, the shareholders of Best Finance Company Limited (BFC) lost the most during the day’s trade as the price decreased by 12 points and the LTP stood at Rs 108. Best Finance Limited and Progressive Finance Limited hit the negative circuit.

Both the sensitive index and float index increased by 1.36 points and 0.32 points respectively.

Out of the 11 sub-indices, only Manufacturing and Production and Microfinance sectors ended in the red zone losing 19.74 points and 0.7 point respectively. Hotels sector gained 49.42 points which was followed by Life Insurance gaining 20.61 points.
