Vice President Pun assures investors of favorable atmosphere

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has assured the investors from the country and abroad that Nepal had created a favorable climate for investment. "Be confident of benefit with the investment in Nepal. Here is investment climate now," Vice President Pun said while inaugurating the two-day Nepal Infrastructures Conference in the federal capital on Wednesday.

In the event attended by more than 500 investors from the country and abroad, and chiefs of Nepal's development partners, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara pointed out the need of investment on Nepal's tourism, energy and infrastructures. Similarly, Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Development, Raghubir Mahaseth, viewed that the government had given top priority to the infrastructure development. "Government is always together with the investors," he added.

Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Dr Han Seung-soo hoped that the conference would be fruitful to exchange views and experiences of infrastructures development in various countries.

Lawmaker Binod Chaudhari informed that eighty percent investment in Nepal was from private sector despite challenges. World Bank Vice Chairman Jingdong Hua expressed his belief that the country of the Sagarmatha and Buddha had huge investment potential. On the occasion, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's press advisor, Dr Kundan Aryal, recited PM Oli's message of best wishes to the conference.
