US Announces $31 Million Aid Package for Nepal’s Recovery

The United States of America is set to provide Nepal with $31 million in assistance.

The information was shared by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker during a meeting with Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal on Wednesday. Khanal is currently in New York to participate in the 81st United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Under Secretary Hooker said the US plans to allocate $10 million for post-flood reconstruction in Nepal. She also announced that $8 million will be provided for drinking water and sanitation, along with housing and livelihood support for communities affected by the floods.

The assistance is aimed at supporting recovery and rebuilding efforts in flood-affected areas while addressing essential needs of affected communities.
