Unilever Nepal Q1 earning plunges by 12.53% to Rs 17.03 crore; Reserve increased to Rs 1.28 arba

Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) has posted net profit of Rs 17.03 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2073/74.
According to the unaudited financial statement published by the multinational company today, its profit after tax decreased by 12.53% in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. The net profit figure stood at Rs 19.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
UNL operating profit decreased to Rs 22.57 crore compared to Rs 25.27 crore in the corresponding quarter.This is because the factory lockout due to labor issues, which was resolved.Also the net profit decreased due to drop in sales.
The company has stated that its total expenditure reduced to Rs 64.07 crore in the first quarter from Rs 80.82 crore in the previous year report of the fiscal year 2072/73.
Unilever retained earnings and reserves increased to Rs 1.28 arba in the first quarter from Rs 93.68 crore in the corresponding quarter.
UNL’s Earning per Share (EPS) has declined to Rs 185 in Q1 from Rs 211 in the previous quarter, and its net worth per share now stands at Rs 1,289, up from Rs 1,117 in previous quarter. The company’s P/E ratio stands at 25.09 times.
