Trend in Last 3 Years Shows Gradual Improvement in National Revenue, Financial Expenditure Almost Doubled This Year

Looking at the half-yearly figures of the overall revenue and expenditure of the government for the last three years, it is seen that the revenue situation is gradually improving. Meanwhile, the overall expenditure for the same period has been volatile.

By Poush of FY 2076/77, the revenue collection was 38.95 percent of the total target and in FY 2077/78, it was 41.73 percent. Similarly, 45.91 percent revenue has been collected till Poush of the current Fiscal Year 2078/89. This is 4.18 percent more than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Regarding the half-yearly expenditure, the situation of the last three fiscal years has been average.

As of Poush of FY 2076/77, the capital expenditure was 14.89 percent. Meanwhile, it was 14.40% in the corresponding period of the fiscal year 2077/78.

Similarly, capital expenditure has been 13.44 percent till Poush of the current Fiscal Year 2078/89. This is 0.96 percent less than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Due to the need to bring a replacement budget and the budget being implemented only after mid-Ashoj, the capital expenditure could not be as expected.

There were some fluctuations in current and financial expenditure during the review period.

By Poush of FY 2076/77, current expenditure was 32.35 percent and financial expenditure was 22.44 percent. In the corresponding period of FY 2077/78, the current expenditure was 36.08 and the financial expenditure was 13.06. Similarly, till Poush of the current Fiscal Year 2078/89, the current expenditure was 38.13 percent and the financial expenditure was 26.12 percent. Financial expenditure has almost doubled compared to the previous year.
