Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited has announced a temporary halt in operations after the Nepal Electricity Authority's Trishuli 3B Hub was completely damaged by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi river on Bhadra 10.

According to the company, the 132 kV transmission line connecting Trishuli 3B Hub to Samundratar substation had already been damaged by a landslide at Lachyang, Ward No. 2 of Suryagadhi Rural Municipality in Nuwakot on Shrawan 11.

The repair work on the line was in its final phase when the Bhotekoshi flood hit the riverside hub, causing severe damage to the infrastructure. The company clarified that its own project infrastructure was not damaged by the disaster. However, with the Trishuli-3B Hub non-functional, power transmission and evacuation from the project have been disrupted, forcing operations to remain suspended.

The company said the project will resume operations once the national transmission line is restored or an alternative arrangement is put in place by the authority, and that further updates on progress and restoration will be shared as they become available.
