Sunday Blues hits the market; loses more than 10 points on first trading day of the week

On the first trading day of the week, the market that was falling since it opened, stood to lose 10.79 points and closed at 1218.98 points. The total turnover for today was Rs.32.70 Crore which was achieved from trade of 1,272,108 units of shares through 4,487 transaction trading scrips of 166 companies.
Today’s highest turnover was achieved by NIC Asia Bank (NICA) which was of Rs.2.53 Crore. NMB Bank (NMB) was second on this list with Rs.2.09 Crore. Only commercial banks appeared on the top shares traded list today, Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) standing at the top with trade of 83,394 units of shares.
The top gainer for today was Janaki Finance Limited (JFL) after gaining 9.60%. Kabeli Bikas Bank (KEBL) was the second highest gainer after it gained 4.93%. Top losers for today were Green Development Bank (GRDBL) and Himalayan Power Partner (HPPL) after losing 9.35% and 7.01% respectively.
Sensitive Index fell by 2.19 points and closed at 258.16 points while the Float Index fell by 0.9 points and closed at 88.05 points.
All the sub-indices were in the red zone today. Banking sub-index had the highest turnover of Rs.19.08 Crore. The top losing sub-indices were Non-Life Insurance and Life Insurance sector which lost 85.94 points and 67.42 points respectively.
