State-2 government brings over Rs 38 billion budget; priorities to modernization of agriculture, irrigation facilities

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Bijaya Kumar Yadav presented budget for the fiscal year 2019/20 at the meeting of the province assembly today.

The budget amounts to over Rs 38 billion which has accorded highest priorities to modernization of agriculture, irrigation facilities, and protection to the marginalized communities, women education and empowerment, identification of new cultural, religious and historical destinations among others.

Budget has been allocated for the identification of projects of provincial pride and attracting investment for them, construction of roads, drinking water and sanitation among others.

The province government has allocated budget for extra remuneration for one month to its government employees following the hike in remuneration by the federal government.
The province government has allotted over Rs 390 million for the ‘Mukhya Mantri Beti Padhau, Beti Bachau’(Chief Minister Educate Girl, Save Girl) campaign.

Likewise, budgets have been allocated for the development of school sectors while beautification of municipality, People’s Housing Programme and other programmes that aim to bring tangible changes in the life standard of the people in province no 2.

Similarly, Madheshi Sahid Highway Announcement programme, public transportation facility, feasibility study of the prospective satellite cities and Janakpur-Bardibas Industrial Corridor among others was also included in the budget for the new fiscal year.

The province government has also allocated budget for the preservation of the local languages and conservation of Mosques, stupas and monasteries. Development of Ramayan Circuit, aimed at fostering religious tourism, also figure in the new budget.

Also, budget has been allocated for Chure conservation, “Save Madhesh’ campaign, Chief Minister with People.
