Shrawan comes late for NEPSE; Achieves highest turnover in four months

Today, the market was gaining from the very beginning of the day and it reached a high of 1243.55 points. The market closed at 1234.13 points gaining 23.89 points marking an increase of 1.97%. The total turnover for today was an outstanding amount of Rs.70.88 Crore which was achieved from trade of 2,372,363 units of shares through 7,853 transactions trading scrips of 167 companies. The last time market saw a turnover of more than 70 Crore was on 3rd May 2018 when the market closed at more than 1366 points.

Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) achieved the highest turnover and most shares traded today with turnover of Rs.4.90 Crore trading 214,730 units of shares. NMB Bank Limited (NMB) stood second in both the mentioned lists with turnover of Rs.4.51 Crore trading 135,619 units of shares.

Continuing the gaining trend, Kabeli Bikas Bank (KEBL) stood at the top of the gaining list today as well after gaining 9.75% marking an increase of 23 points. Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL) were close second on this list after gaining 9.72%. The top loser for today was Uniliver Nepal Limited (UNL) after it lost 848 points losing 3.95% of the share price.

The Sensitive Index grew by 5.3 points while the Float Index grew by 2 points.

Except for Trading and Manufacturing & Production sector all the sub-indices were in the green zone today. Banking sub-index achieved a turnover of Rs.43.24 Crore where more than 19 commercial banks had a turnover of more than 1 Crore. The sector stood to gain 2.16% marking an increase of 22.74 points. Other top gaining sub-indices were Hydropower, Microfinance and Non-Life Insurance sectors which gained 2.88%, 2.83% and 2.76% respectively.
