SEBON increasing grip over listed companies; enforcing new regulations to promote corporate governance and accountability

Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has come up with new guidelines for all listed companies at Nepal Stock Exchange with an aim to regulate the stock market and to curve unethical practices by the BOD of the companies. Issuing the press statement, the share market regulator has informed that the directives for Corporate Governance of listed companies 2074 have already been endorsed by the board and is all set to be implemented from the coming fiscal year. the latest directives are directed towards bringing transparent and stable share market in Nepal by promoting ethical practices among the listed companies thereby making them accountable towards the general share holders. The latest proposed directives have set parameters for dissemination of company related information, selection of BOD, criteria for their incompetency, roles and responsibilities of BOD, meeting allowances among other issues.
