SEBON completes its 27 years of operation; celebrates its virtual anniversary event with 8800 plus stakeholders viewing online

Securities Board of Nepal has observed its 28th anniversary program virtually under the leadership of its chairman Mr. Bishma Raj Dhungana.

The event was also attended by Minister for Finance and Communication Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Mr. Maha Prasad Adhikari, Chairman of Beema Samiti Mr. Chiranjibi Chapagain, CEO of Nepal Stock Exchange Mr. Chandra Singh Saud, Chairman of Nepal Merchant Bankers Association Mr. Dhrub Timalsina and Chairman of Stock Brokers Association Mr. Bharat Ranabhat.

Speaking in the event, Minister Khatiwada expressed the government’s commitment to make government bonds and debentures tradable in stock market and instructed the board and other regulatory bodies to maintain liquidity in the market when the market opens after the ongoing COVID threat, as per the media statement.

Chairman of the board Mr. Bishmaraj Dhungana stated that the board is in process of providing a permission for establishing commodity exchange, venture capital and private equity for the diversification of trading in Nepalese stock market.

In the same event, chairman of the board Mr. Dhungana also felicitates ED of the board Dr. Navraj Adhikari, Acting Director Mr. Suraj Pradhananga and As. Director Mr. Navraj Pandit for completing 20 plus years of their service with the board and the event was viewed live by total 8824 individuals virtually, as per the statement.
