Sanvi Energy Ltd. has announced that electricity generation from its 7.6 MW Jogmai Khola Small Hydroelectric Project located in Ilam district has officially resumed after months of disruption caused by severe weather damage.
According to the company, continuous heavy rainfall across Koshi Province between Ashwin 17–19, 2082 BS caused significant damage to the physical infrastructure of the hydropower project, forcing a complete shutdown of electricity production.
The adverse weather conditions had severely affected critical structures of the project, leading to an interruption in power generation for an extended period. Following extensive repair and restoration work carried out by the company, the plant has now successfully returned to operation.
Sanvi Energy stated that the project is currently back online and has resumed regular electricity production, marking an important milestone in restoring clean energy supply from the facility.
The company expressed its commitment to ensuring the reliable operation of the project and continuing its contribution to Nepal’s growing hydropower sector despite challenges posed by natural disasters and extreme weather conditions.
The resumption of the Jogmai Khola project is expected to support the national power grid while reinforcing confidence in the resilience and recovery capacity of Nepal’s renewable energy infrastructure.
