Samling Power’s Mai-Beni Hydropower Project Resumes Electricity Generation

Samling Power Company Ltd (SPC) has announced that electricity generation from the Mai-Beni Hydropower Project (9.51 MW) has resumed following the completion of repair and reconstruction works.

The project, located in Ilam district, had suffered significant damage to its physical structures due to unexpected flooding caused by continuous and extremely heavy rainfall across Koshi Province and other parts of the country from Ashwin 17 to 19, 2082. As a result, power generation from the project had been completely halted.

After undertaking necessary repair and reconstruction works, the company has successfully brought the plant back into operation. According to SPC, the Mai-Beni Hydropower Project resumed operations and restarted electricity generation from 6:50 pm on Poush 01, 2082. The company has informed stakeholders that power production from the project is now running smoothly.
