Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Company Announces Resumption of Power Generation at Super Madi A Hydropower Project

Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Company Limited (SMJC) has informed that electricity generation at its 9.6 MW Super Madi A Hydropower Project has officially resumed from Mangsir 03, 2082.

According to the company, the project had been out of operation since Ashwin 18, 2082, after severe flooding caused significant damage to the project infrastructure. The flood had forced a complete halt in power generation as critical components of the powerhouse and switchyard were affected.

The company stated that extensive reconstruction, repair, and testing of the electrical equipment installed in the powerhouse and switchyard have now been successfully completed. With these works finalized, the project has restored its production capacity and restarted electricity generation.
